ArtsWestchester Redesign
During the Fall of 2021, Professor Deborah Kirkun, Associate Professor and SUNY WCC ITECH Curriculum Chair, recommended me to an internship at ArtsWestchester in White Plains, NY.
The project is to help with transcribing content from WP Bakery PageBuilder to WordPress Block Editor.
Background
ArtsWestchester is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing arts education in Westchester County, NY. ArtsWestchester began in 1965 as a private conversation among arts advocates and volunteers. It has grown into is New York State’s largest private, not-for-profit cultural service organization.

Project
The organization ran into issues transferring the old website from The Bakery PageBuilder to the new one (hosted and created by Tadpole.cc). The transfer brought over the older elements in the form of pseudocode, which contains the old block editor information that didn’t translate over.
The goal was then to remake each page in the block editor and get rid of the pseudocode. Each page could be remade by using the older live site as a reference to remake each page.

Design process
Using the older website as a reference, I inserted block elements that closely resembled the old site.
Digital assets were easily found in the media folder (such as banners and snapshots) which I inserted into the block editor.

Using the pseudocode, I was able to look through it and determine what type of blocks and images were used at certain points of the older page.
